Recently, we were alerted to a tragic and harrowing incident: a young boy had fallen into an old, dilapidated toilet pit after the surrounding ground had eroded. This horrible accident resulted in his immediate hospitalization and served as a grave wake-up call for the entire village. It became clear that what was once a basic necessity had become a life-threatening hazard for the children and families in the area.
Decisive Action for Community Safety
Through our connection with John Oltukai, we were made aware of the urgency of the situation. We recognized that we could not stand by while the community lived in fear of the very ground beneath them. Collaboratively and swiftly, our team rallied together to take decisive action.
We worked to:
- Demolish the hazardous old structure: Removing the erosion-prone pit that posed a threat to every passerby.
- Engineer a secure solution: We replaced the ruins with a newly secured, modern bathroom facility designed for longevity and safety.
Our Vision for a Healed Community
We believe that “walking in purpose” requires a foundation of dignity and safety. By providing this new facility, we are restoring peace of mind to the families in the area and ensuring that the local infrastructure supports, rather than threatens, their lives.
